Discover South West Alentejo and Vicentina Nature Park
One of the highlights of the park is the Fishermen Trail. South West Alentejo and Vicentina Nature Park is, all in all, 110 kms of wild coastline and 75 thousand hectares of protected area, comprising diverse habitats, some of them still quite unchanged and untouched, where you will find several species of endemic plants as well as a large number of animal species, particularly amphibians, birds and sea fauna.
The trip starts in Odeceixe, in the Algarve region and soon reaches the Alentejo, heading North, mostly along the coast, following the Fishermen´s trail. The whole trail takes place in the Vicentine Coast Nature Park. We will have the opportunity to discover the night life of Vila Nova de Milfontes, a fancy sea resort where we will stop to enjoy the beach and watersports: kayaking and stand up paddling. The sea will be a great companion, all the way up to Porto Covo. The beaches are of great beauty and almost empty with the exception of some surfers. We will follow the traces of Romans and Celts and visit some of the remains of the the ports of Sines, Pessegueiro, Milfontes and Odemira. We reserve you the best of local gastronomy and accommodation too.
